About Me

The Origin of Uncle Amos Home Services

In 1983, when I was nine years old, my father made a decision that would influence my entire career. He bought an Apple IIe computer and created a custom program to teach my siblings and me about this new technology, called a personal computer. He named it UNCLE AMOS—Uzzolino Network Center for Learning and Education, using the Apple Microprocessor Operating System. The name captured his fundamental belief: with the right tools and knowledge, any problem can be solved.

That early exposure to technology ignited a passion that carried through my career as an engineer in industrial automation, where I focused on learning and implementing innovative solutions to tackle complex challenges.

Today, I'm applying that same problem-solving philosophy through Uncle Amos Home Services, helping seniors age in place with confidence and dignity. Just as my father created a system to guide us through unfamiliar technology, I help seniors navigate the complexities of maintaining their homes—from smart home monitoring and contractor coordination to daily money management. The name "Uncle Amos" represents what I aim to be: a trusted, knowledgeable family member who lifts the burden from your shoulders and helps you remain safely and comfortably in the home you love.

Filling the Gap

The journey began five years ago when my aunt fell and faced the prospect of permanent nursing home care. All she wanted was to go home, but her house wasn't equipped for the 24/7 live-in care she would need. I spent months adapting her home so she could return safely. While an exceptional care management team handled her personal care needs, I became the go-to person whenever something went wrong with the house itself.

That's when I recognized a critical gap in the aging-in-place ecosystem: seniors need a "care manager for the house"—someone who manages the home environment to support independent living. Uncle Amos Home Services fills that gap.
